You are the best!’ Dan Walker surprises Strictly pro Nadiya Bychkova with portrait for Christmas

Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova has been left speechless after her partner Dan Walker surprised her with a portrait of the couple dancing for Christmas. The 33-year-old Ukrainian dancer has been dating the BBC host for over a year, after meeting on the dance competition show. And Walker, who is a former Eurovision commentator, has proved he is a romantic at heart as he presented his partner with a stunning painting of the two dancing together.

This is the adorable moment Strictly Come Dancing host Dan Walker surprised his wife Nadiya Bychkova with a portrait of the couple dancing together for Christmas. The BBC presenter, 38, commissioned a portrait as a gift to his dance partner of six years, and to thank her for being such a great support to him. The touching footage sees Nadiya, 31, open two boxes, one containing Dan’s painting, and the other with a card from her husband. Dan says: ‘I just want to say thank you for being the best partner I could ever have asked for the last six years.’ Nadiya immediately bursts into tears and says: ‘Oh my ***, I can’t believe how beautiful it is. You’re so talented. I love it.’

The artwork was created by his illustrator friend Dan Mumford for Nadiya’s 30th birthday earlier this month. His wife of four years gushed: ‘Dan’s a romantic so I was completely bowled over when I saw it. It’s wonderful, it captures our relationship and our love of dancing so perfectly – it’s a real masterpiece. ‘He’s a brilliant artist and he’s even painted me in the nude!’ Dan and Nadiya, who have a daughter Sofia, 2, are believed to be the first Strictly couple to have a nude portrait of themselves created. Nadiya, who is also a professional dancer, said: ‘We’re a real power couple and this is just the beginning.’
