US State Department spokesman Ned Price said US policy on occupied Kashmir had not changed. Have a closer look at the situation.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a press briefing that he was keeping a close eye on the developments in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that both the countries support Pak-India direct talks on other issues including Occupied Kashmir.
The State Department spokesman explained that the United States has important ties with both India and Pakistan. Both countries have their own importance. Relationships are not a ‘zero sim game’. India has a comprehensive international strategic partnership and has significant common interests in the region with Pakistan.
Ned Price added that he would continue to work with Pakistani authorities to achieve common interests. He called on Pakistan and India to reduce tensions along the Line of Control. The US wants the political and economic situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir to be restored.
