The process of submitting nomination papers for the Senate elections has been completed. One hundred and seventy candidates filed papers for 48 seats, according to the Election Commission.

Twenty-one candidates for the general seats of the Senate for Punjab and five candidates for the women’s seats filed nomination papers. Three candidates filed papers for the technocrat seat. PTI’s Ejaz Chaudhry, Ejaz Hussain Minhas, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Muhammad Khan Madani, Barrister Ali Zafar, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Aun Abbas, Saifullah Niazi, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Zarqa Timur, Neelam Irshad, Dr. Rubina Akhtar, Atta Allah Khan Niazi and Mrs. Farhat Shahzadi submitted nomination papers.

PML-N’s Mushahidullah Khan, Pervez Rashid, Saif-ul-Muluk Khokhar, Saud Majeed, Azam Nazir Tarar, Allama Sajid Mir, Irfan Siddiqui, Baligh-ur-Rehman, Zahid Hamid, Saira Afzal Tarar, Sadia Abbasi, Afnanullah Khan and Saif-ul-Muluk Khokhar. Submit nomination papers. Kamil Ali Agha of PML-Q and Raja Azeem-ul-Haq of PPP submitted nomination papers.

The final list will be released today and the scrutiny will be on Wednesday. Suggestions and endorsements are required. Candidates’ data has been scrutinized from various institutions.
