Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said the government is in a tough position on any crime including violence against women.
He said this while inaugurating Bangabandhu Corner at BRTC headquarters here on Sunday.
Obaidul Quader joined the event via video conference from his official residence in the Parliament House area.

Mentioning that the people have no confidence in the BNP movement, Obaidul Quader said, “The BNP has repeatedly tried unsuccessfully without getting any response from the people.
He said the BNP has been failing in the movement for the last 11 years.
Obaidul Quader said that if there is no involvement of the people in any movement then that movement is bound to fail.
The Awami League general secretary said the government would not interfere in the peaceful and democratic movement, but if it wanted to ruin the environment in the name of the movement, the people would be resisted if violence spread.
Regarding the Padma Bridge, he said that the 32nd span of the Padma Bridge has been installed this morning. This bridge is now visible at 4,800 meters.
