Taylor Swift DEBUTS Re-Recorded ‘Love Story’ Snippet
Taylor Swift just received another award to add to her massive collection, AND debuted a snippet of her re-recording of ‘Love Story’! Let’s get into it. Yes you guys, you heard that right! Our ears have actually been graced with a snippet of Taylor’s re-recorded “Love Story”! We’ll get into that in a minute, but first, Tuesday night’s Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards were held virtually from London and plenty of our favorite stars won big. In case you aren’t familiar with the award show, it benefits the Attitude Magazine Foundation, which raises money for
LGBTQ+ causes. Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift were two of the biggest winners of the night with Taylor actually taking home the coveted Icon Award. Taylor’s BFF and collaborator Todrick Hall presented her with the huge award calling her a bonafide LGBTQ+ ally who isn’t afraid to speak out in support of the community and give a voice to the silenced. In case you forgot, for a long time Taylor was quieter about social and
political topics, but in the last few years she’s made it her priority to use her platform to talk about issues she cares about. Last year, she even started a petition to help pass the Equality Act, which is a piece of legislation that is set to create federal protections for LGBTQ+ Americans against discrimination on the basis of “sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.” The act will specifically provide protection for the
LGBTQ+ community in areas like housing, employment, access to public accommodations like restaurants and bathrooms and more. And so, Taylor was extremely grateful to be receiving this big honor at the Attitude Awards and immediately thanked her fans for rallying behind her
when she discusses these important issues. “I’m really really grateful for this. This is so amazing. I want to say thank you to anyone who had a hand in deciding that I should deserve this. And mostly I want to say thank you to the fans for giving me a platform to make music and be
vocal about the things I think are right and wrong.” Taylor continued on saying that her work is far from done when it comes to fighting for
the LGBTQ+ community. “I just believe very firmly that everyone should be able to live out their love story without fear of discrimination. And the way for that to happen is for us to continue to keep pushing governments to put protections in place for members of the LBGTQ community.” She concluded her speech promising that she would continue to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and that she was just so
grateful to receive this honor. Fans were quick to flood Twitter congratulating Taylor and showing their love for both her and the LGBTQ+
community. And we can’t talk about Taylor right now without discussing the fact that she just teased and shared a bit of her re-recorded music in a new Match commercial! Taylor tweeted saying “Okay so while my new re-records are NOT done, my friend [Ryan Reynolds] asked me if he could use a snippet of one for a LOLsome commercial he wrote so…here’s a sneak peak of Love Story! Working hard to get the music
to you soon!!” The commercial is about a girl named 2020 falling in love with Satan on the dating app Match and Taylor’s song Love Story is used in the background as they go on dates. The entire commercial is hilarious, sadly, we can’t play the music here for copyright reasons,
but we’ve linked the commercial down below if you want to check it out! You can also head over to Taylor’s Twitter to watch the entire thing
and hear the new version of Love Story. We think it sounds amazing and now we’re even more excited for her re-recorded music! I don’t know about you guys, but hearing that snippet LITERALLY gave me goosebumps! Taylor said it’s coming soon and knowing Taylor, that could literally mean any day now! We will keep you guys posted if we hear anything else about Taylor re-releasing her music
