Suspect in fatal shooting of pregnant woman linked to five other Jackson homicides
Jackson police have arrested a man they say is responsible for the death of a pregnant woman who was killed in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday. Jackson police say they have arrested James Aaron Kirby, 26, of Jackson. He is charged with capital murder in the death of 25-year-old Jasmine Curry, who was pregnant.
Police say Curry was the unintended target of the shooting, which happened on March 6th. Curry was standing in the parking lot of the convenience store at the corner of Fondren Street and South State Street when a dark-colored SUV drove by and shots were fired from the vehicle. She was struck in the head and died on the scene. Curry was four months pregnant. Police say the SUV was occupied by four black males.
