Sub-inspector arrested for harassing a student in a private hotel in Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Omar Sheikh arrested a sub-inspector and registered a case against him for harassing a female student during a checkpoint at a private hotel in Lahore.

Recently, CCTV footage of a female student being harassed by police during a check at a private hotel located within the limits of Sundar police station in Lahore came to light.

The victim had alleged in her video statement that she was staying in a private hotel when suddenly the door of the room was knocked at half past midnight and when the door was opened, two policemen forced their way into the room and started asking meaningless questions.

The woman said another police officer entered the room 10 minutes after she left and verbally harassed her, while a third police officer who forcibly entered the room continued to present himself in charge.

According to the victim, the police officer who called himself in charge kept on abusing and harassing me.

After the video of the girl came to light, Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab Police took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry.

Lahore CCPO Omar Sheikh registered a case against the sub-inspector at Nawab Town police station and arrested him.
