Possibility of opening educational institutions in phases across the country

Educational institutions across the country are expected to open in phases from January 25.

According to details, the final decision on the phased opening of educational institutions will be taken on January 4 at the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference.

In this regard, it has been informed that all decisions related to the opening of educational institutions in the country will be taken on the basis of Health Advisory.

The inter-provincial education ministers’ conference, chaired by federal education minister Shafqat Mahmood, will be attended by education ministers from four provinces.

In this regard, sources related to federal education said that the federal government has proposed to open educational institutions in three phases.

He said that the first phase includes the proposal to open primary schools from January 25, the second phase to open middle and secondary schools from February 4 and the third phase to open higher education institutions.

Federal education sources said the nationwide exams include a chronic proposal in late May or June.

It may be recalled that the government had decided to close all educational institutions across the country from November 26, 2020 in view of the increase in the rate of corona virus cases across the country, especially in educational institutions.

After being open for almost two and a half months, the educational institutions across the country were closed again from November 26, 2020 and after being closed till January 10, it was announced to reopen from January 11. They were reopened on September 15.
