PDM’s first anti-government rally will be held today
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will hold an anti-government rally in Bahawalpur today.
According to details, the PDM rally in Bahawalpur today will be hosted by PML-N Central Vice President and daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Maryam Nawaz while PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other leaders will also participate in the rally.
Maryam Nawaz has reached Bahawalpur with the League leaders.
According to sources, Maryam Nawaz, Maulana Fazlur Rehman will address the rally while PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will not attend.
PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said that the rally would start at 1 am, which would reach Lari Ada Chowk via Dera Iqbal Chandar and end at Seraiki Chowk via Model Town B&C.
PDM leaders will address the people at Seraiki Chowk.
Arrangements are underway for the rally. A venue has been set up in the lawn of MPA Malik Zaheer’s residence.
In addition, workers of the Muslim League Youth Wing also staged a motorcycle rally in the city.
On the other hand, the district administration in Bahawalpur has refused to allow the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to hold a rally.
The deputy commissioner said the rally could not be allowed due to the corona virus and possible terrorist threats.
He said that local politicians would be responsible for holding rallies without permission.
It may be mentioned that PDM will demonstrate people’s strength on January 11 in Malakand, January 13 in Loralai and January 16 in Tharparkar.
Besides, demonstrations will be held in Sargodha on January 23, Sialkot on January 30 and Faisalabad on January 31.
