Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif’s mother passed away

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s mother Shamim Akhtar has passed away.

PML-N leader Ata Tarar announced the death of Shamim Akhtar on a social networking site.

According to sources, Nawaz Sharif’s mother had been in critical condition for the past one month but had been in critical condition for the past few days and died at Avonfield Apartments.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s mother died in London where Nawaz Sharif is undergoing treatment while Shahbaz Sharif is currently in Lahore jail.

According to Sharif family sources, Begum Shamim Akhtar’s funeral prayers will be offered in London and her body will be sent to Pakistan tomorrow. However, there is no possibility of Nawaz Sharif coming to Pakistan with her body.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Monis Elahi, Sheikh Rashid, Abdul Aleem Khan, Raja Zafarul Haq, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, Convener MQM Pakistan Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal among others. Condolences have been expressed on the death of Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif’s mother.
