Leading Indian anchor Arnab Goswami was sent to jail
Mumbai police yesterday arrested Arnab Goswami and two others in a case of inciting an architect to commit suicide, who were produced before a court today.
According to Indian media, the police produced Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV, in a local court and asked for a 14-day physical remand. However, the court rejected the police request and sent Arnab Goswami to jail on a 14-day judicial remand. ۔
Arnab Goswami alleged in court that he was tortured by the police but the court rejected his allegation of torture.
According to Indian media, Arnab Goswami has also filed a petition in the Mumbai High Court to close the case, which will be heard today, while his bail application is also likely to be filed in the High Court.
