Jane Powell, star of Hollywood Golden Age musicals, dead at 92
Jane Powell, the woman who brought us some of Hollywood’s most memorable musicals and earned a spot in star-studded Variety magazine as one of 10 actresses known for “specific roles,” has died at age 92.
Hollywood Golden Age musical star Jane Powell has died at the age of 92. She rose to fame in films such as Singin’ In The Rain and Follow That Dream before becoming one three-quarters of Busby Berkley’s famous “Beecham siblings,” alongside Diana (also dead) who played the soprano part on screen opposite her tenor voice for Rick Jason when they starred together with Douglas Fairbanks senior playing his son Robin Hood
Jane was no stranger to singing from an early age; attending church services where she would belt out songs like ‘I Know Him So Well’. There were also reports that said if anyone ever offered money just so you could hear them sing then take all your cash
