Shoaib Malik has become the first Pakistani and the third batsman in the world to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket.

Shoaib Malik, a 38-year-old experienced all-rounder, crossed the 10,000-run milestone in the National T20 Cup match between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Shoaib Malik, representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the 395th match of his career, played an innings of 74 off 44 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 8 fours. With 47 runs in this innings, he completed 10,000 runs of his T20 career.

He is the third batsman in the world and the first in Asia to do so, followed by West Indies’ Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard.

Shoaib Malik’s closest Asian batsman is India’s Virat Kohli who has scored 9,033 runs so far.

Surprisingly, Shoaib Malik has not scored a single century in his career, making him the highest-scoring cricketer without a century.

In addition, his total number of T20 matches is 395 and by playing 5 more matches, he will become the fourth cricketer in the world to play 400 T20 matches.
