Girls Aloud Star Sarah Harding Dies at 39 After Cancer Fight

After a long battle with cancer, Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has died at the age of 39.

After six years in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, songwriter and pop star Sarah Harding was diagnosed again last month. On Monday morning she passed away after losing her fight against leukemia on Sunday night.

Sarah Harding, a member of the British girl group Girls Aloud and actress in the American film The Inheritance: Part 1 (2015), died at 39 years old after her battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer earlier this year but decided not to continue treatment for it as she believed the doctors were too “conventional” and wanted something more holistic.

Sarah began acting on television series such as Byker Grove from 1993-1994 before taking roles in feature films like St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold (2011) alongside Rupert Everett & Colin Firth. With Girls Aloud, Sarah won two BRIT Awards including Best Single for their number one single Sound Of The Underground which still regularly appears on radio stations
