Game Journalist Thinks The Next Zelda: BOTW 2 Reveal Is Likely To Be In 2022
Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for about two years now, but it seems there’s still more to come from the game. Game journalist Laura Kate Dale, who has proven to have a few decent sources in the past, is reporting that the next Zelda game may not be out until 2022.
Dale tweeted that she was told by her sources that the next game in the series was originally going to be released in 2019 and that it was pushed back to 2020, but it was then pushed back again to 2021, and now 2022. Dale also stated that this game would be the biggest and most expensive game ever made.
The next entry in Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda franchise is likely to be revealed in 2022, according to industry insider Marcus Sellars. This comes after the game failed to appear at E3 2018, despite being previously revealed as a title for Nintendo’s 2018 release slate.
Sellars recently noted that the game is being worked on by a Western studio (presumed to be Ubisoft, who has been tasked with creating a number of Wii U ports, as well as creating the only third-party title for the Switch thus far, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle).
He also previously predicted that the game would be revealed in 2019, so it’s possible that Nintendo will decide to finally unveil it in a year’s time — or that he simply got the date wrong.
