Fans of the poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, who portrayed progressive ideas and revolution in a beautiful series of pearls, are celebrating his 110th birthday today.
Who can forget Faiz Ahmed Faiz, the pioneer of revolution, innovation and personal freedom, the pioneer of social equality, human rights and the pioneer of Urdu, Faiz Ahmed Faiz was born on February 13, 1911 in Sialkot.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz did his MA in English from Government College Lahore and his MA in Arabic from Oriental College Lahore.
In his poetry and prose writings, Faiz Ahmad Faiz spoke in favor of oppressed human beings and refused to accept human oppression on human beings.
Through his poems, he was imprisoned for exposing the atrocities of the oppressive rulers in front of the people and was deported but did not give up speaking the truth.
Faiz’s well-known works include Naqsh-e-Faryadi, Dast-e-Saba, Zindan-e-Nama, Sham-e-Shehr-e-Yaran, Murray-e-Dil-e-Murray-e-Musafer and Naskha-e-Wafa
Faiz Ahmad Faiz has been awarded numerous international and national awards for his scholarly and literary services.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz passed away on November 20, 1984 and is buried in Lahore.
