Exo One Blends Journey-like Gameplay With a Beautiful, Galactic, Sci-Fi Tragedy
We’ve seen a lot of games that have been inspired by Journey, but Exo One may be the most literal. The game plays out like a journey as you control a nameless astronaut who’s been sent to restore power to a planet far away. You’ll travel through the planet’s atmosphere, dodging obstacles and fighting off enemies, before landing on the planet’s surface. Once there, you’ll need to roam around the land and make your way through puzzles to restore power to the planet.
This is a guest post by a friend of mine who loves to write about video games. He’s a mature gamer and has a Bachelors degree in English and a Masters degree in Business Administration. It’s a very unique approach to the story-telling in this game, which is set in a massive, open-world galaxy that is procedurally generated. You can learn more about his thoughts by reading this post.
For people who love stories, a lot of their enjoyment comes from the ability to empathize with a character. Games can offer that chance more than most other mediums, but even then it is rare to find a game that blends both a great story and great gameplay together. One game that does it right is Exo One, a game released on Steam by developer, Gamesbymo.
