In the US Open women’s final, Emma Raducanu reached a surprise victory against Serena Williams. She lost in straight sets 6-2 and 6-3 to the Canadian tennis star but her impressive feat has made headlines everywhere. The 21 year old Romanian player defeated three top ten players along with beating world number one Simona Halep en route to reaching her first Grand Slam semifinals where she played an exceptional game despite losing it 3 matches to 2.

Emma Raducanu reaches the US Open final in stunning fashion. The Romanian qualifier defeated world number one Simona Halep to secure her spot as she outclassed the top seed 6-3, 7-6(4) at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Tuesday night.
Raducanu was simply too good for an exhausted and emotional Halep who slumped over after dropping a crucial third set tiebreak following five consecutive games which would have seen her take control of proceedings; instead it is now 29 year old Raduacnu that will face Williams or fellow American Taylor Townsend this Saturday (September 4th).
