Donovan mitchell

Donovan Mitchell is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on September 7, 1996, in Elmsford, New York. Mitchell attended Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for high school and then played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals.

In his freshman year at Louisville, Mitchell was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team and helped lead the Cardinals to the NCAA Tournament. As a sophomore, he was named to the All-ACC Third Team and helped lead Louisville to the NCAA Tournament again. In his junior year, Mitchell was named to the All-ACC First Team and was a consensus All-American. He declared for the NBA Draft after his junior year and was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 13th overall pick.

In his rookie season with the Jazz, Mitchell was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and finished as the runner-up for the NBA Rookie of the Year award. In his second season, he was named an NBA All-Star and helped lead the Jazz to the second round of the playoffs. In his third season, Mitchell was again named an NBA All-Star and was a key part of the Jazz’s run to the Western Conference Semifinals. He has continued to develop as a player and has established himself as one of the top young guards in the league.

• In his junior year, Mitchell became the leader of the Louisville team and averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He was named to the All-ACC First Team and was a consensus All-American. He declared for the NBA Draft after the season.

Rookie Season with the Utah Jazz:

• In the 2017 NBA Draft, Mitchell was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 13th overall pick. He was then traded to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Trey Lyles and the 24th overall pick (Tyler Lydon).
• In his rookie season, Mitchell averaged 20.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, becoming the first rookie in Jazz history to average at least 20 points per game. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and finished as the runner-up for the NBA Rookie of the Year award (won by Ben Simmons).
• Mitchell’s standout rookie season included several memorable performances, including a 41-point game against the New Orleans Pelicans and a 38-point game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Developing into an All-Star:
