Corona: Education ministers agree to close schools

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of inter-provincial education ministers is underway under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood.

Sources said that during the second wave of corona in the country, the number of cases has increased alarmingly and the corona positive rate in educational institutions has reached 82%.

Sources said that the education ministers agreed on the closure of schools due to Corona in the meeting of education ministers, however, discussions are underway on the duration of school closure.

According to sources, the federal government has proposed to close schools for a month.

Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that the health of teachers and children is first and foremost, no compromise can be made on the health of children.
