The Cadillac Festival of Races has returned to the streets of downtown Detroit. The two day event, which began in 1974 and ran through 1982 before moving out to attractions such as Belle Isle and Greenfield Village for several years will once again return home this year.
The annual celebration includes a 5K run on Saturday afternoon followed by an 18-lap race around Campus Martins featuring Indy Cars owned or operated by various teams from across North America including Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (aka CGRFS). A variety of activities are scheduled throughout both days along Woodward Avenue between Congress Street & Grand Circus Park offering live music performances, street performers + artisans booths.
