Brian May begs fans to get Covid vaccine as he details ‘truly horrible’ battle with the virus

Queen guitarist Brian May has recorded a video message asking his fans to be vaccinated against a virus that he has been battling for two years. In the clip, which has been released to coincide with World Immunisation Week, the 74-year-old rock legend urges people not to put off getting the Covid immunisation. May, who made the recording from his hospital bed, said: ‘For World Immunisation Week, I’ve come up with a video to try and persuade you to go and get your jab, which will stop you getting hepatitis C.

‘I don’t know if you know much about hepatitis C, but it’s a truly horrible disease. ‘It was a very tough two years while I had it. I had to work hard and I had to keep my spirits up while I was going through it, but I managed to and I got through it and I just wanted to encourage you to get the vaccine now, before it’s too late.’

Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed he has undergone brain surgery to remove a tumour after contracting a virus. The 74-year-old rocker took to his blog to tell fans he required the life-saving operation after contracting the ‘truly horrible’ virus, which he believes is called ‘Covid’. The veteran musician explained it is ‘very rare’ and can cause paralysis but is treatable with the vaccine.
