An advertisement was published in national newspapers for Nawaz Sharif’s summons
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s court orders to summon Nawaz Sharif through advertisement were implemented.
The government published advertisements of Nawaz Sharif’s summons in Azizia Steel Mills and Avonfield Reference in newspapers.
Both advertisements were published in Jang and Daily Dawn on court orders.
The newspaper advertisement said that Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of 8 8 million on July 6, 2018 in the Avonfield reference.
In addition, newspaper advertisements have said that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified from running in the elections.
The advertisement said that in the Avonfield reference, Nawaz Sharif was released on bail on September 19, 2018 after his sentence was suspended. In the Avonfield reference, an appeal is pending and Nawaz Sharif was bound to appear in court.
The advertisement said that Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.5 billion in Azizia Steel Mills reference. Nawaz Sharif was granted 8 weeks bail in Azizia reference.
An advertisement in national newspapers also said that arrest warrants were issued to ensure Nawaz Sharif’s presence, which could not be complied with. Nawaz Sharif should appear in court on November 24.
