DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said that action has been taken against the officials responsible for the escape of Ehsanullah Ehsan.
In an interview to foreign journalists, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said that at present it is not known where Ehsanullah Ehsan is. Efforts are underway to re-arrest Ihsanullah Ihsan. The Twitter account from which Malala was threatened was a fake one.
Regarding missing persons, Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the commission on missing persons has made a lot of progress. Out of more than 6,000 cases in the commission, 4,000 have been resolved while the issue of missing persons will be resolved soon.
The DG ISPR said that a few people were arrested in connection with the killing of Hazara miners in Ketch. These are very important arrests but can’t give further details. He also disclosed India’s support for anti-Pakistan militants and said that India had been providing arms, money and new technology to the militants and that the militants were being supported from Afghanistan.
Regarding Waziristan, the DG ISPR said that militants were reacting to the operations in Waziristan, adding that there was no organized group in Waziristan. Minor extremists are carrying out operations that will soon be eliminated.
Asked about the possible withdrawal of coalition forces from Afghanistan and the withdrawal of the Taliban, the DG ISPR said that Afghanistan was no longer in the 1990s. Pakistan has also changed. It is not possible for the Taliban to retake Kabul and for Pakistan to support them. That will never happen.
