A new Sonic game reveal at The Game Awards looks even more likely

The Game Awards are coming up on Thursday and if you ask any Sonic fan, they’ll probably tell you they’re hoping for a Sonic reveal. Well, it looks like that reveal is getting even more likely. Sonic’s official Facebook page recently posted a video teasing what looks like a new Sonic game in the works.

The video is a still of a Sega Genesis-style Sonic with the text “Sonic is coming soon” above it. The video was originally posted with the title “Sonic Retrospective” but was later changed to “Sonic is coming soon.” Some are saying that this hints at a new Sonic game reveal at The Game Awards, but that’s purely speculation. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka told fans during a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” on Friday that he is working on a new Sonic game that he hopes will be revealed during The Game Awards in December. “There’s a chance we might have something new to announce at The Game Awards,” Naka said in the AMA, translated via Twitter by user MysticDistance. “So if you’re interested, please watch it.”

A new Sonic game reveal at The Game Awards looks even more likely! The Game Awards 2021 are nearly upon us, and it’s only natural that fans of the blue hedgehog are keeping a close eye on the event. After all, rumors have been swirling since early October that SEGA and Nintendo could be collaborating on a new game starring everyone’s favorite speedy hero. And while it’s far from a guarantee that Sonic will make an appearance at The Game Awards, a new leak suggests there’s a pretty good chance we’ll be seeing the blue blur before the year is out.
